This work is a monument to the artist’s last moment of belief in safety: when 6 years old, before the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995. This work is a monument to the artist’s last moment of confidence in the idea of home: when 27 years old, before November 8, 2016.

Wall Text

When six years old, understand the force of 3175 kg of ammonium nitrate fertilizer, nitromethane, and diesel fuel, diffused by the distance of 9 city blocks.

When twenty-six years old, understand the force of a .357-caliber handgun, diffused by 3 human bodies and 464 miles.

When twenty-seven years old, understand the force of 236 lbs holding a Cross Century II Black Lacquer Pen with a Porous Point and 23kt gold accessories, undiffused.

As installed in Urban Arts Space, the Vinyl text was visible from both main gallery (at basement level) and the windows on the street (one level above).
